You must register for employment BEFORE you begin your new assignment. Please go to the PCMI Application and follow the step by step instructions. The application is a 2 part process. You are required to have a background check on file at Boyne City Public Schools, please see below for more details. After your background check is cleared from our central office, you can proceed onto step 2 (payroll process). The background check is the responsibility of the applicant. PCMI/BCPS Criminal Background Check Directions

The State of Michigan, Boyne City Public Schools and PCMI requires you to have a Criminal Background Check (fingerprints) completed through Livescan.

If you DO NOT have a current Livescan Background Check, than please fill out the 2 forms labeled:

1. Criminal History Consent Form – this form goes directly to Boyne City Public School’s Central Office ASAP

2. Livescan Fingerprint Form : this form will give you step-by-step directions on how to obtain your fingerprints. Please fill out the Livescan Fingerprint Request Form (RI-030). You will need to bring the form to your appointment and send a copy to Boyne City Public School’s Central Office.

After you have completed the fingerprint process your background check will be sent to Boyne City Public Schools. This is where you original prints will be held. After we receive a cleared background check, you will be ready for step II of the PCMI process.


If you have an existing current Criminal Background Check from Boyne City Public Schools or another district and need to have your background check shared between districts, please read the criteria below to see if you qualify:

1. Have you previously been fingerprinted for a school under the School Employment Act (SE)?

2. Are your fingerprints currently maintained at a school, ISD, company or agency?

3. Have you worked in a K-12 school in the State of Michigan with one year (365 days) of today’s date without a break in service?

YOU MUST BE RE-FINGERPRINTED BEFORE YOU CAN BEGIN WORKING FOR BCPS if you DO NOT meet all of the above criteria.

If you answered YES to all the questions above, please fill out the CRIMINAL HISTORY CONSENT - RECORD DISCLOSURE/ RELEASE FORM and return all paperwork to Boyne City Central office.

ALL PCMI EMPLOYEES MUST have their background check on file at every district that they are working. It is now the PCMI EMPLOYEE'S RESPONSIBLITY to make sure their background check are on file BEFORE they accept a job in any district.
