Today the graduating Class of 2026 spent their Senior Activity Day at Boyne Mountain and at Veterans Park. This years special group of seniors came up with the nostalgic idea of re-creating their elementary field day, complete with competitions, prize ribbons, and some fun in the wooden park. They then traveled to Boyne Mountain for lunch and activities such as zip lining, paintball, disc golf, and swimming, culminating in a class picture on the sky bridge. A special thank you to Adam Rase and the entire Boyne Mountain staff, the Lions Club, Marty Moody, Mike McShane, and the 4th grade staff for providing such a wonderful day for these seniors as they look forward to graduation on May 31st! #boynecares

BCHS is proud to announce our students of the month of April! Along with their nomination by a staff member, each winner was selected under one of our six focus competencies for our new Portrait of a Rambler initiative (Responsible, Communicator, Critical Thinker, Adaptable, Collaborator, Compassionate). 9th Grade - Kiaha Krimbill (Collaborator) Kiaha has an extremely bright future. She has a brilliant mind and always puts her best effort into tackling class material. But, what really sets her apart is her amazing energy and spirit. She brings a level of fun and positivity every single day that is not only impressive, but a complete game changer to the class environment. She models the perfect balance between working hard and keeping things light and engaging. It will serve her well in any future career she chooses. Thank you for making class fun while maintaining focus on the task at hand. Both things can be true, and you prove that. It's appreciated! 10th Grade - Cooper Vizina (Collaborator) Cooper is a responsible collaborator and a critical thinker! He works hard in our class to get his work done, help his peers, and balance his academics and extracurricular activites. He is kind to his classmates and teachers, and he brings a lot of joy into our classroom. 11th Grade - Ben Stanek (Responsible) Ben is a hardworking, engaged student with strong grades across the board. He is willing to ask for help, he participates, and he works on learning the material until he truly understands it. He challenges himself with the courses he takes and plans on continuing to do so his senior year. Ben takes responsibility of his learning and is a positive leader in the classroom and in extracurriculars, including football, basketball, and NHS. 12th Grade - Zia White (Critical Thinker) Zia is an amazing student. I absolutely love having her in my class. She turns in amazing work, has a wonderful attitude and always goes above and beyond what is asked of her. I am so thankful to have her in class this semester. Zia has a wonderful personality and she affects everyone around her with her positivity! #boynepride

Congratulations to the BCHS students of the month for March! 9th Grade - Ben Velzy Ben continues to maintain the highest level of classroom diligence as he did in first semester. He is a hard working young man as well as an independent thinker. Beyond his high academic achievement, what I truly value is his regular contribution to class discussion. It offers not only his personal knowledge but also his unique perspective on historical concepts. The depth of our class discussions in large part begins with Ben's talking points. Thank you Ben. 10th Grade - Natalie Mastin Natalie is a dedicated student with a very bright future aheadof her. She makes goals for herself andher future, and she works towards themevery day. In our classroom, she is kind, friendly, and focused. When things don'tcome naturally to her, she doesn't justgive up. She keeps trying and keepsworking in order be better. She's resilient! 11th Grade - Ashton Derenzy Ashton has made tremendous strides to improve things for himself in the classroom over the course of the school year. His efforts to grow in his organization, responsibility, and decision making in recent months have been impressive and have resulted in concrete evidence of his success, including strong grades across the board. It is not easy to turn things around for yourself, and Ashton's efforts should be commended. 12th Grade - Ella Stuart-Wall Ella is the definition of a 'community builder.-both in class and in school events' Her ability to juggle high-level academic responsibilities, alongside her leadership roles in NHS and the Freshman Mentor program is nothing short of impressive. What truly sets Ella apart, however, is her heart for service. She is a true team leader who approaches every event with creativity and a willingness to help wherever needed. She does all of this with a smile on her face and a true willingness to make BCHS a better place for students and staff alike! Thank you Ella for being you and helping to make BCHS a great place to be! #boynepride

BCHS is proud to announce our February Students of the Month! 9th Grade - LaKenzie Barber LaKenzie had a great first semester and is off to a great start in the second semester. In the first semester, She had all A's while taking a full academic load including CP Geometry and Spanish II as a Freshman. She also competed in Cross Country and Wrestling. When asked about LaKenzie, Coach Herrmann said about Cross Country, "Awesome! She was a hard worker and a great teammate who persevered and supported the team even while battling a painful injury for much of the season." Coach Williamson added, "LaKenzie has had a great wrestling season so far, including a 3rd place finish at a tough wrestling tournament in Kalamazoo. She practices and competes with intensity, pride, and passion." Mr. Thomas said, "She is a great student who is always on top of her academia and class expectation. Great kid all around." Mrs. Hertel said, "She is a strong student, leads by example, kind to others, always prepared, focused." Ms. Calnen added, "Quiet intelligence. Calm confidence. Steady motivation. Often earning top scores and finishes her work before the rest of the class, but you would never know it. She keeps that info to herself; she finds no need to brag. All around great kid." Chef Cole added, "LaKenzie is a good student in my class, she is always helping others in the kitchen, even if they aren't in her group." 10th Grade - Bruyn Hauger When I think of this student, I think of the words kind, hardworking, and humble. He is reliable and motivated, and he's always working to improve himself. He is a student who shows up every day for himself, his classmates, his teammates, and his friends. He puts in the effort and the time to be the best version of himself every day. He is not afraid to make a mistake because he sees mistakes as opportunities to learn. He is a brave and outspoken leader in our class. 11th Grade - Rusty Carpenter Rusty is a hardworking, resilient student who adds so much to our class by frequently sharing his opinions, ideas, questions, and insights. He takes challenging courses and does well in them across the board. In addition to his academics, Rusty is involved in extracurriculars, including tennis and robotics. Rusty consistently has a good attitude, and his sense of humor brightens others' days. 12th Grade - Jack Horning Jack has done very well academically so far this year. He shows responsibility for keeping up with his work and has a sense of maturity about him. He is open to debating tough topics in a civil manner, listening to the other side of an argument and actually thinking about what they are saying. He has a pleasant disposition about him and has been enjoyable to have in class!
