During the recent school assembly, BCES 4th Grade students were transported back in time as presenters delved into the rich history of Fort Michillimackinaw. The assembly provided a captivating glimpse into the past through a variety of artifacts and displays. Students had the opportunity to observe authentic clothing worn during the era, gaining insight into the daily lives of settlers and indigenous peoples alike. Additionally, the presenters highlighted the significance of the French fur trade, showcasing items used in trading and emphasizing its impact on the region's economy and cultural exchange. Students also learned about Native American animal trapping and trading techniques, deepening their understanding of the interconnectedness of different communities during this period.
