Congratulations to Boyne City High School Senior Aubrey Burns on receiving the Michigan Law Enforcement Educational Fund Youth Scholarship.
Each year, the Michigan Association of Chiefs of Police awards two scholarships to high school seniors from across the state of Michigan. The criteria used in selecting award recipients includes their planned field of study, involvement in civic organizations and community activities, class ranking, and grade point average, among others.
Applicants must also be nominated and endorsed by a Chief of Police.
Chief Kevin Spate is proud to nominate and endorse Aubrey for this scholarship and congratulates her on being one of two students statewide to receive this award. Aubrey is a well-
respected member of her school community and receives numerous positive remarks from school staff and administration. The Boyne City Police Department is encouraged to see a student of Aubrey’s caliber have an interest in a career in law enforcement.
Aubrey will officially receive her scholarship during the MACP Awards Banquet at Shanty Creek in June.
