Our Lineworker program is in full swing at BCHS, where we are blessed with a wonderful partnership with Great Lakes Energy. Shown here are students utilizing a long stick to change out fuses.

Today Boyne City High School held the annual "Dare to be a Rambler Day" where a group of student mentors and staff helped welcome the Class of 2028 and participated in activities throughout the day demonstrating what 'Rambler Pride' is. The Class of 2028 has been a fantastic addition to BCHS and is off to a great start to the 2024-2025 school year! #boynepride

The school year is in full swing and all of our Ramblers are off to a great start. Below are some pictures of Mr. Beckering's Pottery class with some great work in class. #boynepride

On Monday, September 2nd, our Rambler Connect team continued on a tradition to "Chalk the Walk" for the entry ways to BCHS prior to the first day of school. BCPS would like to give a huge shoutout to Eve Willoughby, who has earned her MI-YDA Credential through the state of Michigan. Eve is a member of the Boyne City High School Future Educator Academy CTE program and is a 2024 Petoskey High School graduate.
To earn this credential, Eve has spent over 480 professional hours working with youth, both in and out of school-time settings. The final step included in this credential was a culminating 1 hour formal observation from an outside evaluator based on the SEL-PQA rubric. The Social & Emotional Learning Program Quality Assessment (SEL PQA) is a tool used in programs serving children in Grades K-12. It measures research-identified best practices that support programs to be safe, supportive, interactive and engaging for youth.
Eve plans to finish her Early College program through North Central Michigan College next year while continuing to pursue a degree in the field of education.

Congratulations to our District Champion Varsity Softball team on a district championship today with a 4-3 walk off win over Elk Rapids!
We will welcome the team back into town at approximately 5pm with an escort through town by the BCPD!

Each year, Mr. Beckering personally makes a cup for each graduating senior. Yesterday, following rehearsal for graduation, each senior was able to go pick out their cup along with their senior baskets. Thank you Mr. Beckering and congratulations to all of our graduates in the Class of 2024 at BCHS! We look forward to seeing you at Commencement this Sunday, June 2nd at 4pm in the BCHS Gymnasium. #boynepride

Yesterday Boyne City High School hosted the incoming members of the Freshmen Class (Graduating Class of 2028) for the annual "Moving Up Day" event. A group of current BCHS students served as Mentors and spent the day with next years Freshmen with planned activities, words of wisdom, and a thorough tour of the building. A huge thank you to Mrs. Seymour for planning this event! #boynepride

This year Boyne City High School was fortunate to add Mr. Jason Luneack to our staff. Mr. Luneack teaches an elective called Academic Support. The elective helps students learn organization skills, study skills, time-management, and self-advocacy. Mr. Luneack also helps with daily lunch supervision and has become a mentor to many BCHS students, including students who are not currently taking his class. Thank you Mr. Luneack for your support of BCHS students!

A HUGE THANK YOU to Boyne Mountain, Adam Rase, and the entire Boyne Mountain staff on their continued generosity today as they sponsored the 2024 Senior Activity Day. Our students took part in Zip Lining, Kayaking, the Arcade, Yard Games, and Mountain Biking along with a trip to the Sky Bridge. All students had a great day and we cannot thank Boyne USA Resorts enough for this wonderful opportunity!

Mr. Jim Beckering, a veteran Art teacher, started a new tradition with the class of 2020. He makes a pottery cup for each Boyne City High School graduate. Mr. Beckering had been making cups for every graduate who had completed an Art course for about 5 years prior to 2020 but in 2020 with schools being closed because of Covid-19, he decided to make cups for all of the graduates. He has kept that tradition going ever since. Pictured is Mr. Beckering with this year's cups, some of the cups during the process of making them, and the finalized cups with a sharp looking blue glaze.

Each year, BCHS Physics teacher Mrs. Clausen takes her students on a field trip to Cedar Point, where students have the ability to apply the concepts they have studied in class and apply it to the "real world" as they study motion, momentum, potential and kinetic energies, velocy, and other Physics concepts. Thank you to chaperones Mrs. Clausen, Mrs. McDowell, and Chief Spate for taking our students on this wonderful experience! #boynepride #boyneinspires

This year's Future Educator Academy completed their final in-person meetup with a Digital Portfolio Mock Interview, reflections on how they might offer words of support for next year's class, along with hearing from guest speakers from the education industry. Next week, students will say goodbye to their classroom placement students and teachers. We are proud of their accomplishments this year as they explored a potential pathway in education! A huge thank you to instructors Michele Deming and Erin Luckhardt for their leadership in this great opportunity for our future leaders in education! #boynepride #boyneinspires

Today marked a new tradition at BCHS as we honored our Seniors of the Class of 2024 with a special "senior lunch". The BCHS Kitchen staff did a tremendous job of preparing and serving this delicious meal to the senior class. A special thank you to Layna Lorencz for organizing this event! #boynepride #classof2024
