This week, 5 outstanding musicians were able to participate in the MSBOA District 2 Honors Band day. The day was filled with lots of playing and fun with over 120 other 7th and 8th graders from across northern Michigan.
The day culminated with a terrific performance of 6 pieces of music, including The Incredibles. Congratulations to Finn Dart, Ethan Houser, Blake Irwin, Zachary Ivie, and Elliott Ross who represented Boyne City with pride throughout the day! #boynepride

This past weekend, we had two incredible 6th graders, Quinn Kessler and Steven Forman, compete in the Grand Traverse Regional Spelling Bee in Traverse City! These outstanding young men showed tremendous courage as they went up against 32 other contestants from area schools.
Quinn finished with an impressive 4th place standing, while Steven battled through 2 rounds before being eliminated by a tricky word. Both Quinn and Steven represented Boyne City Middle School with pride and showed what it truly means to be a Rambler!❤️💙
Great job, boys – we’re so proud of you!

The Yarn Whisperers, part of the knitting club at BCMS, crocheted two blankets to give to retired teachers and school volunteers. Students spent the past several months working on the blankets, and were really excited to give them to retired teacher Don Hicks and school volunteer Helen Deming. They were super thankful, and it made us proud to know our work could bring them some extra warmth and happiness! #Boynepride

Attention all green thumbs! Please help our 5th graders ask friends and family to order these amazing pots with spring bulbs. They are only $10! The nice thing is that after they are done blooming indoors, they can be planted in the ground and they’ll come up every year. Scan the QR code or click on the link below to place your order. Thank you in advance for your support!

BCPS Families:
November is Diabetes Awareness Month, and from our Early Learners through our high school buildings, we have Boyne students and staff with Type One Diabetes (T1D). T1D is a life-long condition that has no cure.
For these reasons, Boyne City Public Schools will be promoting Diabetes Awareness for the month of November, and on World Diabetes Day, November 14th, a special "Boyne Wears Blue" day for Type One Diabetes Awareness. We will be offering these shirts and sweatshirts with proceeds going directly to supporting our very own Boyne diabetic students.
Please see the link below for purchasing a “Boyne Wears Blue” shirt. These items will be delivered on November 12/13th so that they can be worn on November 14th. As of now, the link only includes adult sizes, but we are working on adding youth sizes. Please reach out to Ellen Dart at edart@boyne.k12.mi.us with any questions.

BCPS loves our community partnerships!
This year Ms. Hamilla and the BCMS Innovations class got a $2,000 boost thanks to a grant from Great Lakes Energy. BCPS was one of 18 grant recipients chosen from 47 applicants. The grant funded the purchase of a larger 3D printer that students will use to print assistive devices for people with disabilities as well as help them to expand the use of their polyformer kit, which allows them to turn water bottles into 3D printer filament.
Thanks, GLE, for giving back to our students!
