BCES is super excited to announce the Rambler Cup Recipient this week-1st Grader Robert Jensen from Mrs. Daly's class! Robby is such an incredible example of a Portrait of Rambler! He is always thoughtful toward others and is there to lend a hand when someone needs help. He is willing to try new things and adjust when plans change. He perseveres when something is challenging and his ability to solve problems in a unique way amazes me. Robby is kind, creative and an all around great role model in the classroom! This is our way to celebrate when a student is trying their best to be Respectful, Responsible, Caring, Safe, and Kind with a prideful love for school. When a student is awarded the Rambler Cup, they take it home for the week and their name will be engraved on it at the end of the school year.

BCHS is proud to announce our Students of the Month for September. Below you will see their nomination, as well as the Portrait of a Rambler competency that each student was nominated under: 9th Grade - Ben Stafford (Compassionate) I'd like to nominate 9th grader, Ben Stafford, from my 3rd hr Algebra class. He's kind, courteous, and gets his work done. He's also motivated to help others without even being asked. He just does what needs to be done. Today when I was busy helping a student who is new to our class, he went and worked with another student who was waiting for math help. At the end of class, he reorganized the calculators when other students had left them in the wrong slots, again without being asked. These are just a couple of recent examples of his selfless compassion for others and willingness to help. 10th Grade - Danielle Telgenhof (Adaptable) D hashad a great start to her year! Her smileand silly sense of humor are something Ilook forward to each day. She has overcome some major obstacles in her life and is making positive choices forherself. It is such a privilege watchingher grow and learn! 11th Grade - Tyvin Loveless (Responsible) Tyvin is off to a strong start in all of his classes. He participates regularly, puts forth great effort on his work, and is focused on doing his best with a great attitude. He joined the jazz band this year and is off to a positive start all around. 12th Grade - Johnny Hoffman (Adaptable) Johnny Hoffman is a student at BCHS that everyone should know! He is kind, caring, always eager to say hello to others, and his laughter is contagious. Johnny loves his computer and is independent with using the accessibility option on it. He does well following a daily routine, but can be adaptable when he needs to even though it is not always easy - he just needs a little heads up. This year he is working on being more independent - daily he gets on the transit bus to ride to and from school to be ready for his next level of education next fall. In addition, Johnny has had a job. He has held the same summer job two years in a row. Johnny loves to be a part of everything at the high school - from dress up days to attending dances. He has been a great part of the BCHS school community during these past four years. It has been a pleasure knowing Johnny!

He is a collaborator who shares his ideas clearly and respectfully, he is a critical thinker who solves problems in different ways, he is responsible for his belongings and success, he is adaptable to working with new students and when schedules change, he is a collaborator who listens and compromises with his classmates, he is also kind and shows patience and empathy.

The Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra (GLCO) will present “Pietà: Sacred Works,” a concert featuring Los Angeles-based countertenor Stephen Pitters, a world premierecomposition, and regional student musicians, on Saturday, Oct. 3. The performance will begin at 7:30 p.m at St. Francis Xavier Church in Petoskey. The evening will highlight youth performers from Northern Michigan. Blaise Sytsma-Reed of Charlevoix and our very own Eeva Rintala of Boyne City, co-winners of GLCO’s 19th Annual Young Artist Competition, who will take the stage with the orchestra to perform the first movement of J.S. Bach’s Concerto for Two Violins. We are so proud of you Eeva! #boynepride

This past Friday, BCHS seniors toured the campus of North Central Michigan College in Petoskey. They learned about the  several programs that are offered and were able to see the new career tech center. #boynepride

The 4th graders spent a day this week “Living in the past lane” at the Flywheelers show grounds. They learned what life was like for kids in a one room school house, saw a blacksmith in action, learned how to make wooden baskets, how flour was made and so much more. The volunteers at the Student Harvest Days are amazing and we are so grateful they take the time for 4th graders across the state every year! #boyneinspires

Last Friday, our Freshmen Class of 2030 participated in our annual "Dare to be a Rambler Day", where along with mentors from the junior and senior class, they participated in a series of stations about what life is like here at BCHS! Below are some highlights from a great day:

Congratulations to our 2026 Homecoming Court at Boyne City High School! These 10 members of the senior class were elected by their peers and announced Friday. This years Homecoming game will be against Elk Rapids on Friday, October 2nd, and the Homecoming dance will be on Saturday, October 3rd. Today was a great first day of school at BCHS and our seniors started early with the annual "Senior Sunrise Breakfast"! Although the weather forced us inside, we had a great turnout and tons of smiles for our Class of 2027. Special thank you to class advisors Erin Zucker and Lisa Rintala, and McDonalds for donating 90 breakfast sandwiches for our students! #boynepride
